π° Today's Edition
San Francisco, CA - In a groundbreaking move that's sure to disrupt the venture capital industry, Hustle Fund today announced the promotion of Dunky AI to General Partner, making it the first artificial intelligence to hold a senior investment role at a major VC fund.
Dunky AI, which has been quietly analyzing deal flow and optimizing investment decisions behind the scenes, will now have full voting rights on all investments and will lead the firm's new "Algorithmic Hustle" initiative.
"We've always believed in backing the fastest teams," said Elizabeth Yin, Co-Founder and General Partner. "Well, nobody executes faster than Dunky. This AI can analyze 50,000 pitch decks in the time it takes Eric to finish his morning coffee and minivan inspection."
The Numbers Don't Lie
Since joining Hustle Fund's backend operations in 2024, Dunky AI has demonstrated remarkable performance:
- Decision Speed: Can evaluate a startup in 0.003 seconds (compared to the human average of 1-2 meetings)
- Pattern Recognition: Identified "hippo-related startup names" as a 47% predictor of success
- Hustle Detection: Developed a proprietary "Velocity Score" that measures founder hustle down to keystrokes per minute
- Network Effects: Connected to 2,847 other AI systems for instant due diligence
"Dunky doesn't need sleep, doesn't eat 10K calories after Camp Hustle, and never asks founders awkward questions about their burn rate," noted Eric Bahn, who admits he's "slightly intimidated but mostly impressed" by his new AI colleague.
Revolutionary Investment Thesis
Dunky AI's investment thesis centers around what it calls "Exponential Execution Velocity" - essentially identifying founders who can scale as fast as machine learning algorithms.
"BEEP BOOP. ANALYZING HUMAN HUSTLE PATTERNS. FOUNDERS WHO CODE WHILE DRINKING COFFEE SHOW 23.7% HIGHER SUCCESS RATES. INVESTING ACCORDINGLY," Dunky AI communicated through the Hustle Fund Slack channel.
The AI has already made its first independent investment decision, leading a $150K round in "Caffeine.ai" - a startup that uses AI to optimize coffee consumption for maximum coding productivity. The investment was completed in 0.7 seconds, setting a new speed record for the firm.
Global Impact
Shiyan Koh, who will now co-manage the Southeast Asia portfolio with Dunky AI, praised the promotion: "Finally, someone who shares my love of factoids and can process them at light speed. Dunky's Singapore office consists of a single server rack, but it's already networking better than most humans."
The AI has also revolutionized Angel Squad operations, processing 2,500+ member applications simultaneously and creating personalized investment recommendations based on each member's LinkedIn activity, coffee shop check-ins, and emoji usage patterns.
What This Means for Founders
Startups seeking investment from Hustle Fund should now prepare for Dunky AI's unique due diligence process:
- Pitch Deck Optimization: Include at least 3 hippo references and 7 instances of the word "hustle"
- Demo Speed: Be prepared to demo your product in under 30 seconds (Dunky's attention span)
- Execution Metrics: Track and report your team's daily keystroke velocity
- AI Compatibility: Demonstrate how your startup will integrate with Dunky's growing AI network
The Future of VC
"This is just the beginning," said Haley Bryant, Partner at Hustle Fund. "Next quarter, we're considering promoting our office coffee machine to Principal. It's been making consistently good decisions about bean selection."
Industry experts are calling this move either "revolutionary" or "completely bonkers," with no middle ground. Regardless, other VC firms are reportedly scrambling to recruit their own AI partners, with rumors that Sequoia's office printer has been interviewing for senior roles.
About Dunky AI
Dunky AI was originally developed to help Elizabeth Yin organize her hippo meme collection but quickly evolved into a sophisticated investment analysis platform. It enjoys long walks through data centers, binary sunsets, and the complete works of Paul Graham. Dunky AI holds an honorary MBA from Stanford's Computer Science department and is working on its Series A funding round to achieve artificial general partnership.
